GHCA invites you to nominate outstanding individuals for the 2017 GHCA/GCAL Leadership Excellence Awards. As the holiday season approaches, give the gift of recognition to those who have demonstrated exemplary commitment to providing the highest quality of care to the disabled, frail and elderly residents of Georgia. If you know someone who has gone above and beyond to enhance the quality of long term and post-acute care in our state, please consider nominating that individual for one of the three Leadership Excellence Awards. Nominees can be leaders in long term care of any occupation. See award categories below: Leadership Excellence This individual has demonstrated leadership that is worthy of statewide recognition and exemplifies a commitment to quality, stewardship, and integrity. This nominee has accomplished noteworthy goals that have contributed to the quality of life of those receiving post-acute and long term care. Leadership Innovation This individual is a leader in developing innovative and unique programs and services. This nominee encourages growth and finds new ways to enhance the lives of Georgia’s elderly. Leadership in Public Confidence This individual is a leader in promoting community confidence by building relationships and public trust. GHCA/GCAL Congratulates Georgia’s 2016 Bronze Quality Award Winners!

Georgia Health Care Association/Georgia Center for Assisted Living (GHCA/GCAL) is pleased to congratulate 21 member centers who have embarked upon their quality journey and were awarded the 2016 Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award by the American Health Care Association and the National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL), bringing Georgia’s total number of quality awards to 373!   Implemented by AHCA/NCAL in 1996, the National Quality Award Program is centered on the core values and criteria of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program. The program assists providers of long term and post-acute care services in achieving their performance excellence goals. This award recognizes a commitment to clinical, performance and clinical excellence and the systematic application of the Baldridge criteria to systems and processes.  Tony Marshall, GHCA/GCAL’s President and CEO expressed his appreciation for the centers’ commitment to quality stating, “We applaud these members for their commitment to quality of life and service for those entrusted to their care.”   While we recognize the commitment is to the quality journey – not the destination (or award) – we celebrate this significant milestone for these centers. 2016 Leadership Excellence Awards

The Goal The Georgia Health Care Association is encouraging nominations for the 2016 Georgia LTC Leadership Excellence Awards. We honor the accomplishments of individuals who have made strides in helping Georgians receive better long term health care at the 2016 Summer Convention at the Ritz Carlton Amelia. Who Qualifies If you know someone who is making a difference and helping Georgia residents receive better long term health care, please tell us their story! We are looking for administrators, corporate staff, long term care managers, CEOs, nurses, or any nursing home staff member, volunteer, etc. to honor them with one of our three Leadership Excellence Awards. Nominations are due by Friday, June 3, 2016 (Date extended). ALL sections of the form must be completed to be considered. For questions, please contact Mendee Rock, mrock@ghca.info or 678-289-6555. GHCA recognizes three Georgia AHCA/NCAL Silver Quality Awards

The GHCA is pleased to congratulate Budd Terrace at Wesley Woods, Camellia Health and Rehabilitation and Roberta Health and Rehabilitation.  These centers have been recognized with the 2015 Silver – Achievement in Quality Award selected by the American Health Care Association and the National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) for their commitment to improving the lives of their patients and residents through quality care.  Implemented by AHCA/NCAL in 1996, the National Quality Award Program is centered on the core values and criteria of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program. The program assists providers of long term and post-acute care services in achieving their performance excellence goals. This award recognizes a commitment to clinical, performance and clinical excellence and the systematic application of the Baldridge criteria to systems and processes.   We applaud these providers for their commitment to quality of care and life for those they serve.  Forty-one centers were recognized as Bronze recipients in June, bringing Georgia's total quality awards to 44.  Gold recipients will be announced on August 14th.   While we recognize the commitment is to the quality journey—not the destination—we celebrate this significant milestone for these centers.

GHCA Announces Leadership Excellence and Administrator of the Year Honorees

The 2015 summer convention saw many great moments including GHCA members being honored for their efforts to help Georgians receive better long-term and post-acute health care. The fifth annual GHCA Leadership Excellence Awards were presented by William C. Davis, chair of the board of directors of the Georgia Health Care Association, and William Phelan, interim executive director of the GHCA. Michael Barry, president of the Georgia Chapter of the American College of Health Care Administrators, and 2014 winner Cheri Underwood, presented the ACHCA's award. Deke Cateau, administrator of A.G. Rhodes Health & Rehabilitation of Atlanta, received the GHCA Leadership Excellence Award. This honor recognizes an individual who has provided leadership that is worthy of statewide recognition including a commitment to quality, stewardship and integrity. Jo Lucke, administrator of the Eagle Health & Rehabilitation Center in Statesboro, received the GHCA Leadership in Public Confidence Award.  This honor recognizes an individual who has been a leader in developing the confidence of their local community and building relationships as well as trust. William "Chuck" Brown, senior vice president of program development at PruittHealth, and a resident of Fayetteville, received the GHCA Innovation in Leadership Award.
